where Buddha delivered

His first teaching – "Turning the Wheel of Law" – a revolution

Tears cloud my eyes

Good fortune, yet alone

Wondering in samsara.

 

Pass 1

Wearing Buddha’s Robe

Chanting "Om Mani Padme Hum"

And taking refuge in the Three Jewels

Here, Buddha turned the Wheel of Law

"There is suffering

The cause of suffering is ignorance

There is cessation of suffering

The way out of suffering is the Noble Eightfold Path."

Pass 2

Udumbara, Mountain Source, Bamboo in the Wind Sanghas

are present

Carried forth through mind

Caressed by the warming sun.

Pass 3

Buddha’s courage to teach what is in each of us

swells within

A question: What is my response?

In the shade of the stupa

Nine prostrations

Repenting to suchness.
